This test will only work with Photoshop 4.0. Also, please note that this is a pretty big file, and on slower machines without much RAM this test might take a very long time to complete.
To test your machine against Apple's G3's, follow these steps:
1. Open Photoshop 4.0
2. Open the "Actions" palette.
3. From the "Actions" submenu, choose "Load Actions."
4. Find the "MacAddictions" file on the disc in the dialog box.
5. Open the "Steve Jobs.tiff" file.
6. Select "Test" from the actions palette, then select "Play Test" in the actions submenu.
7. Use a stopwatch to begin timing exactly when you let go of the "Play Test" submenu.
8. Stop timing when the final redraw shows all of the image.
The G3's did it in 1 minute 50 seconds. Pretty fast eh?
